Field Audits (Process/Mech.)

To evaluate the actual performance of a grinding system it is necessary to inspect the mechanic condition of the various system components. Also it is needed to review the actual way of operation and process adjustment for each system component. Based on the findings either mechanic improvements or process adjustments can be made to optimize the plant production, product quality, and power consumption. More detailed design calculation based on mechanic measurement can reveal whether the machinery is still operating within its design limits or whether the machinery has lost efficiency. Furthermore the design recalculations will identify the actual bottlenecks hence allow to schedule the best opportunities for investments.

FraMisUS, LLC is offering Field Audits on the following levels:

Basic Field Audit (mechanic and/or process)

Inside inspection of the mill and the system components for mechanic flaws. General observation of the mill system operation and process control. No specialized measurements. This type of Audit will result in a report listing general recommendations for the short / mid / long term handling of the system with regards to mechanic (repairs / maintenance) and/or operation (process adjustments).

Advanced Field Audit (mechanic and/or process)

All items listed under "Basic Field Audit" are included. Additional more detailed mechanic inspections and measurements will be performed (wear measurements, seal inspections,...). Also more specialized process measurements will be performed. Depending on the mill type these can include but may not be limited to gas flow measurements, false air analysis, Tromp Curve analysis, Crash Stop / meter sampling,...).

This type of Audit will result in a report listing detailed recommendations for the short / mid / long term handling of the system with regards to mechanic (repairs / maintenance) and/or operation (process adjustments) of all system components.

Expert / Design Field Audit (mechanic and / or process)

All items listed under "Advanced Field Audit" are included. Additional all installed mill system components will evaluated from the point of process design by measuring the installed sizes, motor power, rpm etc. to come up with the original designed system capacities.

This type of Audit will result in a report listing all details of the "Advanced Field Audit" but additionally listing the calculated original design capacity, the actual evaluated performance, best opportunities for improvements and the actual system bottlenecks. Typically this type of report is detailed enough to enable a feasibility study for potential investments into new / upgraded system components.
